Books and A Rant

I'm currently in the process of writing a few children's books. I will be self-publishing on Amazon "Kindle". Although, I'm not really sure how everything will work out. I've never published anything before, except in the public domain. Currently, I am working on a learning shapes book for toddlers and up. I'm using Corel Paintshop Pro and AI programs for the images. I already have one book available for pre-order, for the "Kindle/E-reader". It will be available on August 8, 2023. I will link it here when it's available. I'm hesitant about this book, I really don't know if it will be approved for "Paperback" or if anyone will actually like it.

Truthfully I made the book for my little one, to help him learn to count to 10, years ago and I'm just now deciding to publish it. Because my family encouraged me to do so. It's a fun way to learn. Through reading and the cute character images, I've made. He seems to enjoy the book and the characters in the book.  Yet, you know, that is my kid. He's just happy being around his parents, and doing whatever is fun. Lol

Rant: I'm starting with children's books, before I get into the heavy-duty publishing, of my Sci-Fi/Fantasy series. Seeing as everything, is literally offensive to people, nowadays. Literally, just look what's happening to a children's classic book Arthur the Aardvark: Birthday Party. A simple spin-the-bottle spot on the page and cartoon apparently, offended Bruce Friedman, with an explanation of it as "Damaging Souls". Seriously?

Francine the Monkey in Marc Browns Arthur's, Birthday Party. Gave Arthur a gift. Francines Spin The Bottle. She spun it at the Birthday party for Arthur and Muffy. When Francine showed Arthur how to play, the Spin the Bottle game, it landed on Arthur's pet dog, and the dog licked Francines' face. Please explain how this damaged souls? I've played Spin the Bottle, in First and Second grade, yet, you know what? It never involved "Kissing". It involved "Hugs", or a question every time it would land on you. Like What's your favorite Color, Character, or even Animal. It landed on a pet dog, and the dog licked Francine, ergo, it didn't really teach the kid to "kiss", anyone. It just showed an over-excited puppy licking a person he liked. That's IT. It showed compassion towards an Animal and an animal's compassion towards a person or in this case, a Monkey named Francine. This makes me think, Mr. Friedman doesn't want to teach children how to be nice to animals either. That's what I'm getting from all of this.

What this is really about, is being compassionate, and inclusive. Apparently, these people don't want their children to be nice, or have any friends at all! I'm sorry to say, not really sorry, however, friendship is an important part of childhood development. Teaching kids to be kind, caring, and compassionate towards others. (Just like the bible does, and I'm not religious, and I know this is what the bible actually taught) Is apparently, wrong, for these types of people. I really don't get it, I honestly do not.

Other writers, from my group are extremely hesitant to write and publish anything, now, because of all the cancelations and petitions or bills trying to ban books. I really want to know what the heck is wrong with being "Inclusive", "compassionate", kind, and caring towards others. Why wouldn't we want to teach our children these things?

My Animal Characters talk, will mine be canceled too, for talking animals, as Charlottes Web was? Very Nerve-wracking, I'm telling you.

I'm just going to say it; If you don't like a book, and others do. Just DON'T BUY THE BOOK. Stop ruining literature for everyone else. That includes movies and TV shows. Just leave it alone. Flip the channel, or just don't see that movie. Plain and Simple.

Movies, TV shows, and literature are all forms of ART, an expression of oneself. These people are literally, trying to silence others, from the FREEDOM TO EXPRESS oneself. No one is doing that to them, No one canceled Kid Rock for shooting Budlight cans. Because he has Freedom to express himself and show his "disappointment". Granted in a stupid and hostile way, yet, still he had the freedom to do so. Although, I will never be buying his music or listening to any of it again. That's just me, yet I'm not trying to cancel or ban him. Now am I? Nope, I'm simply not buying and turning it off.

Do I think there are certain things, children shouldn't watch or read? Yes, and that's why there are age-limit guidelines for each show/movie/book. How much more censoring needs to be done? You are the parent, if you don't want your kid watching or reading something, it's YOUR JOB to monitor that, not the Government. This is why parental controls are available for electronics, apps, etc. Use those instead of pitching a holy terror fit and ruining it for everyone else. FFS, Y'all are acting like you don't know how to Parent! Then act like you do, and try TO PARENT other people's children. THAT'S NOT YOUR JOB. Your JOB is to PARENT YOUR OWN KID. Seriously, keep your a-holeness to yourself! I rather raise a child who is COMPASSIONATE, KIND, CARING, EMPATHETIC. Who TREATS EVERYONE EQUALLY and accordingly, based on attitude and actions, not color or orientation. (MLK/JFK).

Yet once you cross the line of writing or acting inclusively, you're canceled or banned. It makes so much sense, doesn't it? SMH.

Let's raise bigots and full-fledged A-holes, making the world more of a dystopia than a utopia. A Utopia, Where everyone is nice, caring, and kind. Empathetic and compassionate even. Equal and equity even.

Let's just keep the Dystopia, stop the niceties, and let's all be A-holes for the rest of the time, we have left! Flipping cheeses on a graham cracker. Enough of the hatred and bigotry. Seriously, just enough.

Literally, throwing my hands up at all of this BS. End Rant.
