Hallo's Eve

The sun goes down
All around there's no frown
All around there is a smile on every child's face
Even those dressed as a pilot ace

Parents escorting kids door to door
Kids so excited without a bore
Kids scream trick or treat
Their haul is the status elite

When the night comes to an end
Homeward bound and into the den
Dumping the candy on tables
Parents checking labels
Parents checking candy for hidden danger
After all, you really can't trust a stranger

When everything is found safe
Kids move in like a waif
Ready to fill themselves with Candy
Yet parents are prepared and have tools handy
Tools of games and tricks
To hide the candy in baskets made of wicks

If in these stories you should believe
Stories are told of ghouls goblins and ghosts
Parents make a great distraction and hosts
On this mid-Hallo's Eve
